Giant Party Toothpicks

Giant Party Toothpicks

The artist's inspirtation for this sculpture came from an early childhood memory. As a native Cincinnatian, she enjoyed eating at Frisch’s Big Boy and getting a grilled cheese with a special frilly toothpick stuck in it. She and her siblings would fight over which color they wanted. So the sculpture evolved into the “Party Toothpick.” The simplicity of it makes for an eye-catching piece in the landscape and makes people smile, which is what public art is all about—to inspire people’s imagination.
