Enriching Fort Wayne

During its 50th Celebration, IPFW enhanced the visual landscape and increased the vitality of its campus and community. Sculpture with Purpose™—IPFW’s flagship 50th project—enriched Fort Wayne with incredible sculptural bike racks like this one.

The floral design of this sculpture was inspired by the vibrant patterns found on products crafted by sponsor Vera Bradley, a company that has always inspired women to be colorful with their personal style. Three sculptural plate steel stems frame pods of colored glass at multiple heights, creating a layered bouquet that anchors a corner garden in the new Auer Center Plaza. During the day, sunlight casts colorful shadows across the east plaza entrance. Ground-mounted lights will be used produce sharp bursts of color in this urban landscape at night. Installer – Strebig Construction; Steel Fabrication – PWC Fabrications; Glass Fabrications – William L. Lupkin Designs; Painting – Johns Painting; Lighting – Votaw Electric.
