Growth Throughout the Years

Bonnie Wyss, ’73 alumna

Bonnie received her degrees from a much smaller campus in 1973 and marvels at how much the campus has grown.

In 1964, IPFW started off with two small buildings (Kettler and Neff) and over the years has expanded to a vast campus that covers 688 acres and boasts 40 buildings and structures. The largest university in northeast Indiana, IPFW has a medical building, visual and performance arts theater, the Rhinehart Music Center, Helmke Library, and Walb Student Union, just to name a few. There are now 33 academic departments with 200 degree options.

Today, Bonnie and her husband walk the river trail on IPFW’s west side and attend Omnibus lectures and art shows. “Little did I know 40 years ago that the campus would expand so much or that I would be enjoying it on an almost daily basis,” she says. “But it has and I do.”
